Life Line Institute provides these services to youth in San Joaquin County. We provide conferences with break-out workshops which are ran by professional volunteers who are dedicated to assisting us in being a "lifeline" to our youth.

Job Preparation Skills

The Life Line Institute will provide classroom instruction and workshops to youth/young adults age 15-21. The 8-week job prep course will consist of such topics as generating cover letters and resumes, the interview process, retaining and retention of keeping a job, and 1-on-1 assistance with an employment counselor.

Life Skills

This component will address the tools necessary for youth to transition into positive adults. Topics that will be taught are: self determination, free choice of one's own acts or states, responsibility, building self-reliance, one's efforts and abilities, enhancing self-esteem, self-actualization, and discipline and gang intervention & prevention, parenting skills and health education. Life Line will provide youth with the tools to assist them in building on their strengths, not succumbing to negative peer pressure and building confidence.

Vocational Skills

This job skills program will be available to youth/ young adults age 16-21. They will receive the necessary vocational training to qualify for an entry-level position in a manufacturing environment. Training will include basic shop math, print reading, tool identification, etc. This program will consist of 10 weeks of training.
